To make this piece, I drew an ice cream cone, then I got an exacto(how do you spell that?) knife and I cut out the some of the paper in the ice cream cone. After that, I spray painted it yellow. The difficulties I had making this stencil was first patience, I needed to trace mine off the board but people kept going and I didn't have a chance to go, so I gave up and drew it free hand, so it doesn't look the best. Another difficulties was cutting out the little squares, because they would rip off and now my stencil is messed up. I'm glad I had those difficulties though because, I was able to make my second stencil a lot better. I had to cut out the paper, then tape it to a paper, and then I had to spray paint it.
So I made this pizza fish in class, and obviously I ran into some troubles with it. First I couldn't find the right color for the mushrooms, so they didn't turn out right. Also I didn't smooth out the lumps and wrinkles all the way, so it looks sloppy. Another thing is the shape didn't turn out right so it's sort of rectangular. The process I went through to make this fish is I made two pinch pots and put them together, then I made the fins and tail, then I made a mouth, and I made the pepperoni and mushrooms. After it was fired, I glazed it mainly with red, yellow, and brown My inspiration for this piece was how great pizza is.
This is the sun and the moon together. I chose to morph the sun and moon because they are two really different things so I thought they would look cool together. It doesn't really relate to me, but I could see how it would relate to some people who could have two different personalities. I think the sun side was kind of successful, but if I were to do it again in the future I would make them both the same scenery just with the sun and the moon changing and I would make sure the sunglasses lenses were symmetrical.
This was a very interesting thing to draw. I didn't just want to draw a hallway or room, so I tried to show an alien in the room and signs that say keep out, but what he's doing in there is open to interpretation. I had a lot of trouble with making it seem like end of the hallway and keeping everything towards the horizon. This is my Observational drawing #1. Some difficulties I ran into while creating this piece, was first off I didn't want to just draw one feather, so I drew a bunch of feathers, and I had to keep moving the feather. Another difficulty was the shadowing. It was really hard to shade it and make it realistic. I really enjoyed making this and it inspired me to make other pieces like it. |
