This week I'm working on the pouring vessel project, I made a pyramid for the pouring vessel and 3 triangle prisms. I realized the prisms are too big, so I cut them in half and forgot to take a picture. Next week I think do inlay on them but I'm not sure, and probably start my surrealist project, where I'm either gonna make planets like balloons or a person with a donut for a head.
Name: Myeongbeom Kim
Location: South Korea History: He studied at University of Seoul where he got his BFA, and then at the University of Seoul where he got his MFA Material: Stuff he finds, like lightbulbs, balloons, candles http://www.myeongbeomkim.com/en/?page_id=2 What I like about him is that his work takes things and gives them new functions. I love the lightbulb with the fish because it looks so cool, and I'm not sure what the little gold specks are but I love them. I'm drawn in by how seamless they are, and I love how much it bends reality. It's inspiring because it's so clean, I really like his work I couldn't find a ton of info on him. |
